Fame! Remembering Madil + Ria Madrigal!

"Remember, remember, remember ... remember my name!" the song from the new remake of the movie "Fame" by Naturi Naughton starts and the EB Babes, in bright orange and black, deliver a dazzling modern dance number to open Kahit Sino Pwede (KSP).

Then, with one of the contestants acting as a DJ and doing a human beatbox number, Angel, Mergene, Joyce and Maricorn lend a hand by being the dancing party girls in his makeshift dance club.

Also another contestant displayed his singing and guitar playing talents by serenading Lougee and Belle in a makeshift park. But in the end, he opted for a cross-dressing Kim Dinosaur.

In the jackpot round, Joey and Anjo asked the winning contestant who among the EB Babes most resembles his girlfriend and the contestant says that one of the girls has the same name as his girlfriend. Joey and Anjo then tried to guess the name, trying out names like "Maricorn", "Angel", "Teri Onor", "Ann". But then  the contestant says that it wasn't anyone up on the stage. "Pambihira ka, wala naman pala dyan, niloloko [mo kami]," Joey says. It turns out he was referring to Madel, who is not with the EB Babes anymore.

"Madel!" Joey and Anjo exclaims simultaneously. "Ah, si Madil! Wala na si Madel," Joey says.

After the contestant selected the number 1 which Saida was holding, they asked the contestant's girlfriend, Madel, who was there in the studio audience, to take Saida's place. Saida went over to her and gave her the number while she took the contestant's seat. They then asked the contestant to repeat his choice while Madel was among the EB Babes holding the number 1 box.

Other portions of the show include the Pure Gold groceries giveaway where the girls helped in handing out the groceries to lucky members of the audience. And in On The Spot Jackpot (OTSJ), Mergene, Ann, Saida, Joyce and Belle were the choices for the contestants. Joyce held the P30,000 top prize.

Then in Pinoy Henyo, Ria and Steph join the dabarkads lineup. Ria's name got picked and Joey asked, "Eto ba ang tinatawag nyong Ehra Madrigal ... Ehra Madrigal ng EB Babes?"

"Oo, eto nga," Tito answers.

The contestants couldn't guess the word and thus Ria gets her first taste of the Pinoy Henyo slime.  Steph's name was not picked.

Goodbye Mae & Madel

As the EB Babes' third year drew to a close today, we receive confirmation that Mae has opted out of signing a contract renewal, and Madel has reportedly not signed either. Wether they plan to stay visible in showbiz or return to a more private life is still uncertain, but what is for sure, is that whatever they choose to do, whatever endeavors they wish to undertake, they will have our continued support, and we will forever be grateful for the three-plus years of their life that they shared with us.

It's kind of heartbreaking to see them go, especially having them practically grow up in front of our eyes: Mae from that cute little "grade six" girl to the creative "Mae-trix" that beats up Ha and Ho and to the hot, beautiful and talented young lady that we see today; and Madel from the clumsy "gymnastic girl from Cebu" to the showtime girl that gave us the 360 degree jump split and makes everyone go "Ooh-La-la!"

But this is how it goes, everyone has their own lives to live after all, and Mae and Madel both decided to take a new direction in theirs. They will surely be terribly missed, but to their many fans out there, they will always be EB Babes.

Madel in Sexy ASK! Episode

EB Babe Madel takes on the videoke challenge as she competes with other FHM Top 100 Sexiest Women in this sexy covergirls episode of All Star K. Her competitors include Jennifer Lee, Jocelyn Oxlade and eventual winner Carlene Aguilar. Madel lasts until the fourth round, where she got axed by Hired Killer Richard Gomez.

Purple Hot Madel

Cool Center Dances to A Hot Drummer

For the second Saturday in a row, EB Babe Madel appears in GMA's Cool Center as the girl showcasing the giveaway item. This time, the item up for grabs is a hand drum, and Madel nicely incorporates this into her moves, cooly tapping on it as she dances.

Babes in Hole In The Wall

EB Babes Belle, Madel and Mergene team up as the "Red Team Bonggalicious EB Babes" as they try their luck at going through the wall in GMA's "Hole In The Wall", hosted by spoiled brat Angelina (Ogie Alcasid) and Yaya (Michael V).

The girls bested their couterparts, "Blue Team Hot Mocha" (led by Mocha Uson) to continue on to the jackpot round where they nearly pocketed the pot prize of PHP 1.6 million, just barely missing out as Mergene was just a little out-of-bounds of the play area.

Madel Heats Up Cool Center

EB Babe Madel appears in Cool Center, a late night live comedy show that airs on GMA on Saturday nights and hosted by Anjo Yllana and Eugene Domingo. "Sinong hindi matututong gumawa ng kasalanan," quips regular guest Mr. Cariñoso when asked to comment about Madel.

Dance Revolution, The Repeat

The dance concert "Dance Revolution" featuring EB Babe Ann stages a repeat at The Library Comedy Bar as part of the bar's anniversary. EB Babe Belle also makes an appearance, singing a couple of songs.

The Veronicas / Pera o Babong?

With The Veronicas' "Take Me On The Floor", the EB Babes present a cool opening number for KaKaibang Bida (KKB), which started with Belle lip syncing the lyrics. In the Jackpot round, Joey De Leon jokingly poses "an indecent proposal" to the contestant who has won big (over 150,000 pesos): "Pera o Babong?"

The contestant however won't take any part of it, and was adamant he wanted the money. Anjo then poses the proposal back to Joey. "Pera... pero yung kalahati bibigay ko sa babong," Joey replied, " may pera na ako, may babong pa ako."

In the Pinakamadaling Gameshow, Allan K says to Joyce, "Ang ganda mo Joyce. Ang kinis mo talaga."

So Hot

Madel alone was wearing black and she was dancing with the pole, while the rest of the girls were in front of her, wearing blood-red outfits with gold skirts, wiggling and gyrating, as if they were flames surrounding Madel. With "So Hot" by The Wonder Girls playing, the result is one fiery opening number for KaKaibang Bida (KKB). And to cool things off a bit, the Babes end the number by blowing a kiss.

But come the jackpot part of the game, Madel was already wearing the same red outfit as the rest, and she got selected by the contestant. She was holding the weekly finals top prize of "12 months."

Working Girls

The EB Babes dress up as "Working Girls," donning attires of different professions: Joyce as a cocktail waitress, Mergene as a policewoman, Madel as a flight attendant, Belle as a businesswoman, Ann as an aerobics instructor, Mae as a street vendor, Angel as a housemaid, Saida as an inspector and Molly as a nurse.

Also in the show was Luding and Simang's chika portion, wherein the question for the day was, "Sino ang may pinakamaliit na baywang kina EB Babes Mae, Madel at Joyce?" Julia takes the measurements: Mae, 23 inches, Joyce and Madel, both 24 inches. The correct answer is, "M-A-E, Mae".

Lights, Camera .... Takot Ako!

Cool as ice cream and dancing to The Pussycat Dolls' "Lights, Camera, Action", the EB Babes open KaKaibang Bida (KKB) "sorbetero edition" in striped shirts, striped socks, white shorts and hanging suspenders. Later on, they serve as assistants to one contestant doing a balancing act. As that act ends, the contestant pretends to lose control and drop the tin cups he was balancing on a pole onto Ann, who was dancing by the side. Ann scampers away, and Vic says later on, "napatakbo mo si hopia!"

"Takot ako!" Ann mouths when the camera focused on her.

A Confused Madel

How fitting it was that Madel was holding the box with the letter C, as she appeared Confused during the Coke Smile segment. When the letter C was selected by the audience, she didn't seem to know that she was holding it, and when she went to where Julia was, Julia asked, "kumain ka na ba?"

But then Ruby calls her back, "Dito, Madel! Ba't ka dyan pumupunta dyan?" and Julia goes to the floor laughing out loud, "puyat yan, puyat," she said.

"Pasaway na bata," says Ruby.

Happy Birthday EB Babe Madel

Teri?

With vividly colored wigs, outfits and ties, the EB Babes open Taktak Mo O Tatakbo (TMOT) with a vibrant number, dancing to "Mmm Papi" by Britney Spears.

And as Ann brought in the numbers for the audience-contestant drawing, he tells Vic that it's Madel's birthday (Madel's birthday is actually tomorrow, Feb. 13). They greet Madel and noted that she has the same birthday as Jose, who pretended he was annoyed.

Then, during the game, Joey De Leon interrupts Vic to bring in new EB Babe Molly, telling him it was former EB host Teri Onor, having gotten an operation. They asked her how she was, and as instructed she says, "masakit pa rin."

A Spanish Showtime

Ann and Madel perform a Hispanic dance number for showtime, clad in matching red costumes. As for TMOT's opening number, the EB Babes dance to "Shut Up and Let Me Go".

Filipiniana, Flores de Mayo + Salamangka

In celebration of Flores de Mayo, the EB Babes wore native Filipiniana garbs and carried flower arches for Taktak Mo O Tatakbo. In the Showtime part, Ann. Madel and Joyce don the country's colors while carrying a vase, a basket of fruits and hand fans as they dance to a "native" arrangement of the Taktak theme. Bitoy calls out, "Paypay, paypay... Prutas, prutas..."

In the Ang Joke Ko segment, Julia "Salamangkera" Clarete executes a magic trick that turns a duck into EB Babe Ann while EB Babes Saida and Joyce assist.

While for Sa Pula, Sa Puti, the girls dress up as band members and split into two groups to support the red and white teams.

The EB Babes open Taktak Mo O Tatakbo (TMOT) with Craig David's "6 of 1 Thing" and present the letters "S" and "E" with "Getchingin". Dressed with a white vest and cute ruffled shorts (which Joey De Leon called "parol shorts"), Mergene had the "temperature rising" dancing to Tata Young's "El Nin-YO!" as the Bunot Girl. Madel was the showtime girl wearing the purple skin-tight outfit that Allan K. called "peek-a-boo".

Two Rolls And A Slide

Presenting the final roulette of Taktak Mo O Tatakbo (TMOT) was Madel, dressed up in her FHM100 Sexiest Women Party outfit. She performed some moves and then, as she did two days ago when Allan K. dared her, she rolled down the stairs in a split position. And this time she did it twice, going down the full flight of stairs. Anjo asked her if she practices that and she says, "Hindi po."

Allan K. then called on Saida, saying Madel was challenging her to see who the real "Reyna ng Roleta" is. Saida went up the platform, assumed the split position, but then had second thoughts so instead, she went sliding down the stairs which sends Allan K. rolling in laughter. "Loka-loka!" he shouted laughing.

Madel Rolls Down The Stairs

"Open Sesame!" shouts Anjo, and the wall opened up to reveal the final roulette of Taktak Mo O Tatakbo (TMOT). With it was Madel, all pretty in pink, to present it. She performs a split and some stretching, then Allan K. says, "Pag gumulong ka pababa pa sa hagdan, hahanga na ako." Madel indulges Allan and, while still in a split position, rolled down the stairs head first. Quite a dangerous move to do but she did it well and gracefully. "Iba ka Madil!" exclaims Allan K.
